RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College field hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to
Wittenberg University Wednesday afternoon on Comstock Field.
The Tigers (11-4, 9-2) scored once in the first half before adding a pair of goals in the second period to build a 3-0 advantage in the North Coast Athletic Conference match.
Cassie Gage scored Earlham's goal at 69:46. Gage has 88 points in her career and one away from tying Margaret Kerrick (1983-86) for the all-time record. The goal was the 37th of her career, which puts her in second place behind Kerrick's 42.
The Quakers led 22-16 in shots, while both teams had 11 penalty corners. Goalkeeper
Emma Treece had 11 saves Earlham.
Earlham (4-8, 1-8) celebrates Homecoming on Saturday as the Quakers play their final match of the season on Comstock Field against Kenyon College. The NCAC contest begins at noon.
