RICHMOND, Ind. — Three Earlham College field hockey players have earned a place in the NCAA rankings with one garnering a top position.
Emma Treece (Kettering, OH, Kettering Fairmont),
Rhea Bovee (Lindhurst, IL, Lake Forest) and
Zipporah Burns (Beachwood, OH, Orange ) are listed in this week's national field hockey rankings.
Treece is No. 1 in the nation in saves per game with 15.67. She has 188 saves in 12 matches.
"Emma is an outstanding goalie," Earlham Head Coach Jill Butcher said. "She has amazing skills, quick reactions and is a great decision maker and communicator in the circle. I'm happy she is getting the national attention she deserves."
Bovee and Burns are on the list of defensive saves. Bovee is tied for 23rd with five, while Burns is tied for 30th with four.
"It's no secret that Rhea and Zee are the back bone of our defensive unit," Butcher said. "For them to be ranked nationally in defensive saves is a tribute to their hard work and determination to be the best they can be for their teammates."
Earlham (2-10, 0-9) visits Kenyon College today for a North Coast Athletic Conference match at 4:30 p.m.
