RICHMOND, Ind. — The
Earlham College women's tennis team swept non-conference foe
Central State University Wednesday 9-0 on the EC Courts.
In doubles play,
Rachel Hawkins and
Alex Softness won 8-1 over Mallory Hart and Ammie Woodruff at No. 1. At No. 2,
Bailey Hall and
Cory Mathieu defeated Jalisa Mixon and Brandy Stewart 8-2.
Julia Berner-Tobin and
Morgan Springer received a forfeit at No. 3 doubles.
The Quakers won five of the six singles contests with
Kirsten Schrader getting a forfeit at No. 6.
Hawkins won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 over Stewart. Softness posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Hart at No. 2.
Mathieu won 6-0, 6-0 over Woodruff at No. 3, while Hall upended Mixon 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. Berner-Tobin picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Janay McClain at No. 5.
Earlham (4-3) visits
Central State University next Thursday. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
