RICHMOND, Ind. — The
Earlham College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision Thursday to
Capital University on the EC Tennis Courts.
The Quakers picked up their first win on the day at No. 3 doubles.
Johnny Kauffman and
George Bouchard teamed up to defeat Doug Gugel-Bryant and John Murray 8-6.
Brad Maisey,
David Bluestein and
Steven Gotama were Earlham's winners in singles action of the non-conference contest.
Maisey won 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 over Max Hoff at No.1, while Bluestein picked up a 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over
Murray at No. 5. Gotama beat Gugel-Bryant 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6.
Earlham (5-10) visits the College of Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday. The non-conference affair starts at 4:30 p.m.
