RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham field hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to Oberlin College during a rainy Saturday afternoon on Comstock Field.
Oberlin (3-0, 1-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference) scored twice in the opening stanza to lead 2-0 by intermission.
In the second half, Oberlin made it 3-0 before the Quakers got on the scoreboard.
Diana Ainembabazi scored at 45:32 with an assist from
Kate Birdsall. Oberlin added two more goals for the final tally.
Oberlin led 28-9 in shots, while holding a 15-8 advantage in penalty corners. Earlham goalkeeper
Emma Treece had 11 saves for the Quakers.
Earlham (2-2, 0-2) entertains Wittenberg University on Wednesday. The NCAC match gets underway at 5 p.m.
