Box Score WOOSTER, Ohio — The Earlham College field hockey team dropped a North Coast Athletic Conference contest at the College of Wooster on Saturday.
With a goal at the 9:11 mark, the Scots (3-3, 2-1) took a 1-0 lead on their way to a 6-0 win.
"I thought we played our best hockey the first 10 minutes of the game," Earlham Head Coach Jill Butcher said. "We passed the ball very well and mounted several attack opportunities, but need to work on finishing."
Earlham goalkeeper Helen Titcomb (East Sandwich, MA, Stargis Charter) had 12 saves for the Quakers.
"We had a few defensive breakdowns and Wooster was able to capitalize on those," Butcher said. "I thought our first-year goalie, Helen Titcomb, came up with some good saves in just her second game in goal for us. We started six first-years today and this team is improving with each game. I'm pleased with the progress we are making in some areas."
The Quakers (0-4, 0-3) face another NCAC foe on Sunday as they visit Oberlin College at 11 a.m. at DePauw University. The NCAC match is at 4:30 p.m.
