Quakers Finish Weekend Trip with Match at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio — The Earlham College field hockey team ended its weekend journey to northern Ohio on Sunday as the Quakers fell 5-2 at Oberlin College.

Oberlin (2-2, 1-2) scored four times in the opening period of the North Coast Athletic Conference contest before the Quakers were able to cut the deficit in half in the second stanza.

Neo Khalema (Yellow Springs, OH, St. Michael's) scored both goals for the Quakers as they made it 4-2.

Kate Birdsall (Georgetown, ME, Morse) assisted on the first goal at 49:38, while Tori Posey (Crestwood, KY, South Oldham) helped on the second at 59:29. Oberlin added its final tally at 66:48.

Oberlin led 18-11 in shots and 15-10 in penalty corners.

Earlham goalkeeper Helen Titcomb (East Sandwich, MA, Stargis Charter) had eight saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (0-5, 0-4) are back in action on Thursday at DePauw University. The NCAC match is at 4:30 p.m.
