RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College field hockey team fell 7-1 on Saturday to Denison University.

The Big Red (6-3, 4-2) scored times in the opening period to take the lead in the North Coast Athletic Conference match.

Neo Khalema (Yellow Springs, OH, St. Michael's) scored Earlham's goal at 13:30 of the first half. Bailey Heinzen (Glenview, IL, Glenbrook South) assisted on the play.

Earlham goalkeepers Helen Titcomb (East Sandwich, MA, Sturgis Charter) and Emma Treece (Kettering, OH, Kettering Fairmont) had four saves each. Sam Bielinski had a pair of defensive saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (0-9, 0-7) travel to Ohio Wesleyan University on Wednesday for a NCAC contest at 4 p.m.
