Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — Most of the action in the Earlham College field hockey match on Wednesday night happened in a span of about four minutes as Transylvania University defeated the Quakers 2-1 in Darrell Beane Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Quakers grabbed a 1-0 advantage at the 58:12 mark when Kaitlyn Brunner had an unassisted goal.
Transylvania (4-3) quickly added scores at 59:06 and 61:54 to take the lead for good.
The Quakers led 10-9 in shots, while Transylvania had a 6-4 edge in penalty corners.
Earlham goalkeeper Helen Titcomb had three saves for the Quakers.
The Quakers (2-3) return to action on Saturday at the College of Wooster. The North Coast Athletic Conference contest gets underway at 5 p.m.
