SHERMAN, Texas â€" The Earlham College men's tennis team won its fourth straight match on Tuesday with an 8-1 victory over Austin College.
The Quakers began the contest with a 3-0 sweep of the doubles action against the 'Roos (2-8).
Anton Bartashevich and Jack Ventura-Cruess beat Adam Dokos and Cedric Ambulo 8-2 in the top spot.
In the second position, Hank Levin and Phillip Locklear won 8-4 over David Smith and Jack Kunde.
At No. 3, Andrey Gavrilov and Scott Lawrence defeated Jeff Kubena and Nick Diaz 8-4 at No. 3.
For Gavrilov the win was the 50th doubles victory of his career. He is tied for third with Charlie DiLalla (2001-05). Brad Maisey (2010-13) leads the way with 60 wins, while Adam Turner (1999-2003) has 54.
In the singles competition, Locklear beat Dokos 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, while Bartashevich won by the same score over Ambulo at No. 2.
At No. 3, Levin took care of Spencer Gander 6-1, 6-1. Ventura-Cruess defeated Kubena 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4.
Lawrence posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Smith at No. 5.
Earlham (4-2) is at the University of Texas-Dallas on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
