HANOVER, Ind. — The Earlham College baseball team kept on rolling on Sunday as the Quakers completed a three-game sweep of Hanover College with an 11-5 win over the Panthers.

Earlham (14-13, 6-8) also moved into a sixth-place tie in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with Bluffton University and the College of Mount St. Joseph. Hanover is 8-16, 4-10. Both teams scored in the first inning on Sunday with the Quakers picking up a run when Ted Williams grounded into a double play.

In the third inning, both squads scored again. Thomas Rea knocked in Earlham's run with a single.

The Panthers took a 3-2 lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth before the Quakers found an answer two frames later.

Ryan Hayes, Josh Parr and Ethan Bailey each had run-scoring doubles in the sixth to put the Quakers on top 5-3.

Hanover added a run in the sixth to make it 5-4, but the Quakers responded again with three runs in the seventh.

Williams had a RBI single and the Quakers added the two runs on errors to make it 8-4.

Rea was responsible for both Earlham runs in the eighth as the Quakers led 10-4. After a RBI single, he stole two bases and scored on an error.

The Panthers scored their last run in the eighth before the Quakers finished the game with a score in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Matt Barger.

Rea led the Quakers with three hits, while Hayes, Williams, Bailey, Nate Lynch, Ryan McCray and Alex Arovits had two hits each.

Zach Lee started on the mound for the Quakers and left the game with one out in the fifth. Adam Warning (1-0) picked up the win by getting the last two outs in the fifth and working the next two innings. T. J. Plummer and Colton Miller went the rest of the way for the Quakers.

The Quakers are back in action on the road Tuesday against Mount St. Joseph at 4 p.m.
