NO. MANCHESTER, Ind. â€" The Earlham College men's tennis team defeated Manchester University 6-3 on Tuesday.
The Quakers are now 8-9 overall and have qualified for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournament this weekend in Indianapolis with a 5-2 mark.
After the doubles competition, the Quakers led 2-1 against the Spartans (4-9, 3-5).
Vitalii Stadnyk and Jack Ventura-Cruess defeated Kyle Lahman and Stratton Smith 8-5 at No. 1.
Gleb Babikov and Vojislav Tatarevic won 8-2 over Spencer Thomas and Garrett Bear in the second position.
In singles action, Earlham posted four wins.
Stadnyk beat Lahman 6-7, 6-0, 7-6 at No. 1. Babikov took care of Smith 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2.
At No. 3, Ventura-Cruess blanked Phil Truitt 6-0, 6-0. In the fourth spot, Tatarevic outlasted Thomas 6-2, 5-7, 6-1.
Earlham finishes the regular season at home on Wednesday against HCAC foe Anderson University at 4 p.m.
