RICHMOND, Ind. â€" The Earlham College men's tennis team finished the regular season on Wednesday with its fourth straight win as the Quakers beat Anderson University 8-1.
Earlham is now 9-9 with a 6-2 record in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Quakers led 2-1 after doubles play against the Ravens (0-10, 0-8).
Vitalii Stadnyk and Jack Ventura-Cruess won 8-1 over Andrew Gingerich and Jacob Hopper in the top spot, while Gleb Babikov and Vojislav Tatarevic defeated Ethan Hillman and Tyler Wilson by the same score at No. 2.
Earlham did not lose a set as they swept the Ravens in the singles competition.
Stadnyk beat Gingerich 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1. Babikov took care of Hopper 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2.
In the third slot, Ventura-Cruess defeated Hillman 6-3, 6-0. Tatarevic got by Wilson 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4.
At No. 5, Adam Schwartz blanked Zachary Edwards 6-0, 6-0. Erekle Tsamalashvili outlasted Nick Briles 7-5, 6-2 at No. 6.
The Quakers, the third seed, will face No. 6 Manchester University on Friday in the HCAC Tournament at the West Indy Racquet Club. The match gets underway at 6:30 p.m.
