RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday, falling to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) foe Franklin 9-0 and NAIA member Berea 6-3.
Franklin won all three doubles flights in the early morning match. In singles, sophomore Arrita Domi fell to Emily Roberts 6-1, 6-2. Fellow sophomore Kaitlin Morgan lost 6-0, 6-1 to Chelsea Platt.
Franklin defeated Berea 9-0 in the other match of the day.
In Earlham's loss to Berea, the Mountaineers took all three doubles flights, winning first doubles 8-4 and both second and third doubles by a score of 8-2.
In singles, the Quakers won all even flights. Domi won 8-3 at second singles, Morgan won 9-7 at fourth singles, and freshman Megan Howell won 8-4 at sixth singles. The victories marked Earlham's first singles flight wins of the year.
The Quakers return to action on Oct. 30 at Mount St. Joseph. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
