Women's Tennis Falls to Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Indiana – The Earlham College women's tennis team fell 8-1 to Manchester University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) this Saturday. The loss brings the Quakers to 3-3 this season and 0-2 in conference play.

First and third doubles were close at the beginning, but the Spartans seized momentum as the matches went on and ended up taking both points. Senior Arrita Domi and junior Yunjoo Shin paired together to play second doubles. They battled from 3-6 down to tie up the match at 6-6 before eventually falling 9-7.

In singles, freshman Alexandra Canaday was the only Quaker to capture a fist set, however she eventually lost 10-5 in a third set super tiebreaker. Shin picked up the lone win of the day after her opponent was forced to retire after winning the first set and falling behind in the second. Shin improves to 5-1 on the season in singles play.

The Quakers are back in action this Wednesday when they travel to Crestview Hills, Kentucky, to take on the Thomas More Saints.
