Box Score 2 RICHMOND, Indiana – Earlham College baseball pounded out 24 runs on 23 hits off visiting Olivet College over both ends of Sunday's non-conference doubleheader at Sadler Stadium to complete a series sweep over the Comets. The Quakers won game one of the twinbill, 12-0, before posting a 12-5 victory in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1:
After posting single runs in each of the first two innings, Earlham posted seven runs in the fourth inning, six of which were unearned, to take command of the contest. Cameron Wissel doubled home a pair of runs early in the frame with a shot to right field, and Danny Dopp drove in two more runs later in the inning with a two-out single into left field. Austin Hatfield capped the scoring with a three-run home run to left field, and the Quakers got out of the inning with a 9-0 lead.
The Quakers tacked on three more runs in the eighth, with Jeordan Kuderer opening the frame with a triple to right field. He was singled home by Marc Gendreau, and, after a base hit from Isaiah Shake, Dopp doubled to left field to bring home both runners.
Dopp finished the game 2-for-3 with four runs batted in, while Wissel went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Starter Joey Gerbus fanned 10 Olivet batters with no walks over eight innings of work while scattering three hits on his way to the victory.
Olivet starter Zac Walter was charged with the loss after surrendering nine runs, only two of which were earned, on six hits. Aaron Gillespie accounted for two of the Comets' three hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
Olivet scored twice in the first inning on back-to-back RBI doubles from Riley Bennett and Ben Compton, but Earlham responded with five runs of its own in the bottom half of the first on four hits and a Comet error. Dopp and Devin Basley each singled home runs, while Michael Medley plated another run on a grounder to short.
After Earlham tacked on a single run in the fourth inning, Olivet kept pace with a run of its own in the top of the sixth on Matt Hewitt's RBI double to left field to score Compton. Easton Embry stroked a double to left field in the bottom of the sixth to drive in Hatfield, keeping the Quakers in front, 7-3.
The Comets manufactured a run in the top of the seventh on three hits and an RBI fielder's choice grounder to third, cutting the margin to 7-4.
Earlham widened its lead with a three-run seventh inning, keyed by Embry's two-out, two-run single into center field. Cameron McCabe plated a run earlier in the frame on a base hit into center, and the Quakers led, 10-4, after seven complete.
Olivet added one run in the top of the eighth, with Earlham adding two more in the bottom half of the inning on Gendreau's RBI double to right and a sacrifice fly by Isaiah Shake to right field bringing home Gendreau.
Gendreau went 3-for-6 for the Quakers with a double and an RBI, while Embry finished 2-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in. Hatfield was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles.
Starter Colin Greve earned the win in his six-inning stint, allowing just three runs on five hits. Olivet starter Brendan Redding was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings on the hill.
Earlham outscored Olivet, 36-14, over the three-game series.
