CARMEL – On Monday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selected winners weekly awards. Claiming Pitcher of the Week honors for Earlham was junior pitcher
Aidan Talarek.
Talarek pitched four innings in relief and earned the winning decision against Adrian College on Friday afternoon in Sadler Stadium. He recorded six strikeouts and only allowed three baserunners off of 14 batters faced with no runs scored.
The Quakers defeated No. 22 Adrian by a score of 7-4 after back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Earlham (11-3) will travel to Wittenberg University on Tuesday for its first away game of the 2022 season. After Wittenberg, the Quakers will host DePauw University on Wednesday, and travel to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday to begin the HCAC slate.
