Track and field finishes seventh at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Earlham College track and field team competed in the Manchester Invitational at Manchester University on Saturday.

Both Quaker teams finished in seventh place, the women's team scored 37 points while the men's squad scored 35. 

Earlham will be back on the track next weekend at DePauw University. 

Here are some of the top performances of the day for the Quake:

Men's triple jump: Josh Ozanne led the Quakers in the men's triple jump by posting a mark of 11.77, good enough for second place. David Turner also scored with a fifth-place finish. 

Women's 100 meter dash: Lyndsey Hermes finished in third place after posting a time of 13.15 seconds. 

Men's discus: Conner Hubbard scored a third-place finish in the men's discus with his mark of 39.85 meters. 

Men's high jump: David Turner led the Quaker effort in the high jump by clearing 1.7 meters to finish third in the event. Ozanne finished sixth after clearing 1.65 meters. 

Women's 200 meter dash: Hermes also scored points in the 200 meter race after she ran a time of 27.46.

Women's long jump: Madison Huelskamp scored a third-place finish in the long jump after she recorded a leap of 4.61 meters. 

Women's 400 meter dash: Olivia Kyrk brought home a fifth-place finish in the quarter mile race with her time of 1:06.34. 

Men's 400 meter hurdles: Tristan Sturm finished in sixth place in the 400 meter hurdles after posting a time of 1:07.46. 

Men's 5000 meter run: HCAC men's cross country newcomer of the year, Connor Del Carmen finished in seventh place in the 5k event with his finishing time of 15:47.25. 

Women's discus: Makaylah Castelow earned a sixth-place finish in the discus after recording a distance of 34.46 meters. 


Women's high jump: Kyrk also recorded a sixth-place finish in the high jump by clearing 1.35 meters. 

Women's triple jump: Huelskamp also scored in the triple jump where she posted a leap of 9.61 meters for fourth place. 

Men's shot put: Hubbard also scored in the shot put with a sixth-place finish after his mark of 12.82 meters.
