TOURNAMENT HOMEPAGE

RICHMOND – The Earlham College baseball team has earned a berth into the 2022 NCAA Baseball Tournament and will begin competition on Friday in the regional tournament.

The Quakers won the double-elimination Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament last weekend to earn an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. They will be joined in the region by Birmingham-Southern, Lynchburg, and Salve Regina. Lynchburg has been designated as the host school. This is the second time in the last five years that the Quakers have made the big show, the 2017 squad won the HCAC Tournament to play in the Washington, Pa. Regional

Earlham heads into the tournament with a 26-11 record. Justin Dillhoff leads the starting rotation with 10 starts and a 4-2 record. He has struck out 55 batters in 62.1 innings of work with two complete games. Dillhoff was called in to finish the job in the final game of the HCAC Tournament, earning a save along with the tournament title. Aidan Talarek holds a 3.80 ERA in 71 innings pitched as the second member of the rotation and has amassed a record of 8-3 with 10 starts.

Andrew Bradley leads the Quakers offensively with a program-record 16 home runs and a .901 slugging percentage. Bradley has knocked in 48 runs on the season and registered 14 doubles. Christian Lancianese leads off the Quaker lineup and has an on-base percentage of .438 with 10 extra-base hits and seven homers.

The Quakers will take on Birmingham-Southern in their first round matchup. The Panthers hold the top spot in the regional seedings and were ranked No. 3 by d3baseball.com in the most recent national poll. The Panthers finished their season with a record of 38-8 and a Southern Athletic Association Championship.

The region is hosted by the second seed Lynchburg. The Hornets earned the No. 11 ranking in the most recent top-25 poll and concluded their season with a 35-10 record after falling in the final of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Seahawks from Salve Regina posted a 28-11-2 record in the season and went 14-0-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season. The Seahawks fell in the tournament to Endicott College, and earned an at-large bid into the tournament.
