ADA, Ohio – The Earlham College track and field teams competed in the Larry Cole Invitational following winter break.
Both teams recorded a sixth-place finish against NCAA Division III and Division II opponents.
Connor Kimball won the men's 800 meter run with a finishing time of 2:03.3 seconds. The senior cleared second place in the event by nearly two seconds.
Liv Kyrk scored a podium finish in the women's 400 meter dash with a finishing time of 1:06.59. The junior ran in the second heat and won her section by five seconds.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Levi Call,
Connor Del Carmen,
Tristan Sturm, and
Owen Trotto scored a fourth-place finish with a final time of 3:51.37.
Madison Huelskamp scored a fifth-place effort in the long jump with a mark of 4.89 meters. She also earned points with a sixth-place finish in the women's 200 meter dash. The senior won her heat with a time of 29.83. Huelskamp rounded out the night with a third-place finish in the triple jump after scoring a mark of 9.56 meters on her fourth attempt.
Elena Stirn earned an eighth-place finish in the women's 800 meter run after finishing in 2:50.46. The senior finished in sixth place in the fastest heat in the event.
Two Quakers finished top-8 in the men's 3,000 meter run.
Ian Gorley finished in seventh place with a time of 9:24.74 while
Alex Roberts was one spot back with a 9:27.75.
Earlham will be back in action next Saturday at the Comet Invitational hosted by Capital University.
