BEXLEY, Ohio – The Earlham College track and field team took to Capital University for the Comet Invitational on Saturday afternoon. 

The Quakers took wins in three events, in their second outing of 2023 at the Cap Center. 

Earlham will be back on the track next weekend at the Tim Hreha Memorial Indoor Invitational hosted by DePauw University on Saturday. 

Here are some of the top performances of the day by EC: 

Madison Huelskamp took the first Quaker win of the day in the women's long jump after reaching a mark of 5.08 meters. She would reach the top step of the podium later in the meet in the triple jump with a mark of 10.00 meters. 

Connor Kimball won the men's 800 meter run by over a full second with a time of 2:01.28.

David Turner scored a second-place finish in the triple jump by posting a mark of 12.2 meters.

Liv Kyrk cleared 1.41 meters to take second place in the high jump. She also scored a third-place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.16 in heat three. Elena Stirn also scored in the 400 with a sixth-place result. 

Lily Schamel finished the mile run in fifth place after running a time of 5:53.54. 

The 4x400 meter relay team of Connor Del Carmen, Kimball, Alex Roberts, and Ethan Rose finished in fifth place with a time of 3:45.81. The Quaker team won its heat by six seconds over the University of Cincinnati Running Club.
