RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College women's soccer team blew past Manchester University 4-0 on Homecoming afternoon.
The Quakers improved to 3-7-2 (2-3-1 HCAC).
Earlham celebrated Senior Day before the contest. Senior
Elizabeth Rakes was honored before her final contest in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
Isabel Slone led the Quakers with two goals on the rainy afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Slone got her first goal of the day in the 51st minute after beating three Spartan defenders en route to the goal.
In the 58th minute,
Mallory Smith got stopped up by the defense. She turned, and four
Liz Burley with space on the drop, who delivered a one-touch shot from around 30 yards out. The shot sailed over the Spartan goalkeeper into the back side of the net.
Slone struck again in the 77th minute after
Taliyah Coles delivered a clean pass across the penalty area.
In the 81st minute,
Noelle Hooper capped off the day with a free-kick score from the near side.
Makalya Hurey was kept clean by the Quaker defense, and made three saves.
Earlham outshot the Spartans 25-5.
The Quakers continue their HCAC campaign on Wednesday at Transylvania University, kickoff is slated for 3:30 pm.
