CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College track and field team continued its 2023 season at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Quakers combined for 34 points at the meet.
Connor Del Carmen won the men's 5,000 with a time of 15:01.66. Del Carmen now has the second-fastest time in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for the event.
Ian Gorley finished in fourth place with 16:20.85.
Madison Huelskamp finished in second place in the women's long jump with a mark of 4.85 meters (15' 11").
Blessed Shumba brought home a fourth-place finish in the men's triple jump after a leap of 12.55 meters (41' 2").
Liv Kyrk scored points with a sixth-place finish in the high jump after clearing 1.4 meters (4' 7").
EC Soccer teammates Connor Kimball and
Ethan Rose both scored in the men's 800 meter run. Kimball finished fourth at 2:01.14 and Rose finished in sixth with a time of 2:03.85.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Kimball, Rose,
David Turner, and
Owen Trotto finished in fifth place with a total time of 3:44.46. The team averaged a split of 56.1 seconds per leg.
The Quakers will be back in action next Friday at the Friday Night Spikes meet, hosted by Rose-Hulman.
