RICHMOND – After recording nine saves in a 15-3 win over Concordia Chicago, Emmitt Shaughnessy has been named Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week by the conference. 

Shaughnessy faced 34 shots in the season-opening victory, and collected nine saves and only allowed three goals. 

This is the first weekly award of Shaughnessy's career.
