CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College track and field teams completed the indoor portion of their season with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Meet at Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday.
The men's team finished in seventh place with 36 points scored while the women finished in ninth place with 20 points.
Eight Quakers earned all-conference status in seven different events on the day.
The men's distance medley relay team of
Ethan Rose,
Micah Smith,
Conner Kimball, and
Alex Roberts took first place in the event with a finishing time of 10:56.73. The Quakers held a three second advantage over Rose-Hulman in second place at the finish.
Kimball returned to action for a second 800 meter race with a win in the open event with a time of 1:59.7. The senior had three competitors within a second of his finishing time.
Madison Huelskmap scored a second-place finish in the long jump with her mark of 5.12 meters on attempt number three. She also earned all-conference status in the triple jump with a 10.01 meter leap.
Connor Del Carmen earned all-conference status in the men's 5,000 meter run by finishing in second place with a time of 5:11.47. Del Carmen then finished in third place in the men's 3,000 meter run after posting a time of 8:55.91 in the event.
Liv Kyrk finished in third place in the women's 400 meter dash after finishing in third in heat number three. The field was tightly packed, with less than half a second covering second through fifth place.
The next opportunity for the Quakers is the Polar Bear Final Qualifier at Ohio Northern University on Friday evening.
