HANOVER, Ind. – The Earlham College track and field team began its outdoor season at the Hanover Invitational hosted by Hanover College on Saturday.
The men's squad finished in seventh place with 21 points, while the women finished in ninth place with 28 points.
The Quakers will be back in action on April 1st at the Centre College Invitational.
Here are some of the top performances of the day by EC:
Conner Kimball won the men's 800 meter run in a finishing time of 1:57.02. The senior had the fastest final lap of the event by over two seconds.
Ethan Rose finished fifth in the event, coming in at 2:05.57.
Competing in her first meet for the Quakers,
Willow Runyon scored a second-place finish in the women's long jump with a mark of 4.38 meters.
Connor Del Carmen finished second in the 1500 meter run after posting a time of 4:17.49.
James Holder scored points with a second-place result in the high jump by clearing 1.8 meters. Holder cleared the same height as the event winner from MSJ, but took more attempts to do so.
Alexis Gibson earned points with a fifth-place finish in the shot put. Gibson recorded a throw of 10.71 meters in the event. She then finished in seventh place in the discus, scoring a mark of 34.49 meters.
Josh Ozzane and
Abraham Sadiq both scored in the men's long jump with a fifth and seventh place result.
Micah Smith earned a sixth-place result in the men's 200 meter dash after running a time of 23.88 in the event. Smith then scored a seventh-place finish in the 400 with a 54.53.
