Track and field earns three podium finishes at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Earlham College track and field team continued its season at the Indiana DIII Showcase hosted by DePauw University. 

The women's team earned an eighth-place finish with 32 points scored while the men's team finished in ninth place with 15 points. 

The Quakers will be back on the track next weekend at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational, the final meet before the HCAC Championships at Franklin College.  

Here are some of the top performances of the day for EC:

Liv Kyrk earned a podium finish in the women's 400 meter dash after running a time of 1:02.34. The junior finished in second place in the event. 

Conner Kimball earned a third-place finish in the men's 800 meter run with a finishing time of 1:54.44. The senior was narrowly beat out at the line for second place by .08 seconds. 

Madison Huelskamp and Willow Runyon both placed in the women's long jump with second and fourth-place results. Huelskamp reached 5.13 meters on her best leap, while Runyon had a jump of 4.70 meters. 

Huelskamp also placed in the triple jump, after recording a mark of 9.75 meters to finish in fourth place. 

Josh Ozanne scored a sixth-place finish in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.3 meters in the event. He also scored in the triple jump, with an eighth-place finish at 11.85 meters. 

Alexis Gibson scored in the javelin throw with a seventh-place finish after a throw of 30.17 meters. 

Connor Del Carmen finished the 5,000 meter run in eighth-place with a final time of 15:58.9.

The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Runyon, Huelskamp, Eva Lyon, and Kyrk finished in fifth place after recording a time of 52.94 seconds, trailing conference rivals Anderson and Hanover by less than a second. 

The men's 4x100 meter relay team of Abraham Sadiq, Marcos Paul, Micah Smith, and Ozanne earned a fifth-place finish with a total time of 44.49 seconds.
