CARMEL, Ind. – On Tuesday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the weekly tennis Athletes of the Week. Payton Dugan of Earlham women's tennis was selected as this week's recipient after a 4-0 week of competition. 

Dugan won at No.2 singles against Shawnee State on Friday evening 6-0, 6-0. The first-year player also scored an 8-7 win at No.2 doubles with Natalee McCann.

She then scored a win at No.1 singles against Miami Middletown with a 6-0, 6-0 score. Teamed up with McCann once again, Dugan won at No.1 doubles 8-0 on Saturday. 

The Quakers fell to Shawnee State 5-4, but defeated Miami Middletown 8-1 on the week. 

On the season, Dugan has a 4-1 record in singles play, and a 3-2 record in doubles play, primarily partnered with McCann. 

The women's tennis squad continues its season on September 22 at the ITA Regional Tournament in St. Louis.
