CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Earlham College track and field team began 2024 at the MSJ Invitational on Saturday. 

The Quakers finished in sixth place for both genders, scoring a combined 53 points. 

The Quakers will be back in action next weekend at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. 

Here are some of the top performances of the day for the Quakers:

Freshman Micah Williams won the men's 400 meter dash in a straight-up race. Williams won the single-heat event with a time of 53.24 seconds, with a .52 margin of victory. Williams also finished in second place in the 200 meter dash with a lap of 24.19.

Abraham Sadiq won the men's long jump with a leap of 21'.75" on his second attempt. Sadiq also scored a sixth-place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.87.

Abigail Kirby finished in third place in the high jump by clearing 4'11.75". The freshman entered the event at 1.47 meters, and jumped just four times to clear the height. 

David Turner earned a third-place result in the long jump with a jump of 18'3". The junior recorded his best mark on the second attempt.

Katelyn Trotto earned a fifth-place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:02.76

Connor Del Carmen scored in the men's mile with a sixth-place finish. The junior ran a time of 4:32.3 in his only event of the meet. 

Ethan Rose earned a point in the men's 800 meter run with a time of 2:03.49.

Jesse Musinguzi earned a point in the high jump after clearing 5'7" on his third attempt. Musinguzi also finished in fifth place in the long jump with a mark of 17'6.25".

The women's 4x200 meter relay team of Amari Bradford, Akiko Tajima, Chloe Cook and Maro Imieye finished in fourth place with a total time of 2:02.83.
