Kirby wins high jump at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Earlham College track and field team continued action with the Friday Night Spikes meet hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. 

The Quakers finished in seventh place in the meet. The men's squad scored 14 points while the women's squad garnered 10 points.

Select members of the track and field team will be competing tomorrow at the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg University. The entire squad will be back in action next weekend at the AU Invite hosted by Anderson University. 

Here are some of the top performances of the day for the Quake:

Abigail Kirby won the women's high jump by clearing 1.53 meters. The freshman currently leads the HCAC rankings in the high jump after clearing the height on her first attempt.

Abraham Sadiq scored a second-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.54 meters. The senior reached his best mark on his second jump of the day. Sadiq also placed in the 60 meter dash, finishing in fourth place with a time of 7.16 seconds.

Ethan Rose finished the 800 meter run in seventh place with a time of 2:02.1. 

David Turner scored one point in the triple jump with a mark of 11.6 meters on his third attempt. 

Micah Williams earned an eighth-place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.18.
