CARMEL, Ind. – On Thursday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced this year's all-conference teams and special awards. The Earlham College Quakers placed four athletes on the all-conference teams.
Makayla Hurey earned first team honors for her work in the goal this season. Hurey posted an 84.6 save percentage with a 1.4 goals against average in 15 games this season. The senior made 115 saves, and recorded six shutouts to break the career shutout record for the program. Hurey recorded shutouts against two of the top three teams in the final conference standings, and recorded 25 saves in those two games. She was also named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week twice.
Quinn Doden earned a spot on the all-conference second team as a midfielder for the Quakers. Doden started all 15 games in her senior season, playing over 1,200 minutes. The senior took 21 shots, and scored one goal with one assist.
Mallory Smith placed on the second team as a junior after leading the Quaker offense with 11 points. Smith scored four goals, and dished out three assists. She took 42 shots throughout the season, and started all 15 games on the offense.
Kiley Bohart earned third-team recognition for her work in the defense this season. Bohart started all 15 games for the Quakers, and tallied over 1,260 minutes. In addition to scoring one goal, Bohart contributed to a six-shutout season for the Quakers.
Earlham concluded the season with a 3-8-4 record, and a 2-5-2 conference mark for a seventh-place finish in the HCAC standings.
