CARMEL, Ind. – On Wednesday, three members of the Earlham College baseball team were included in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-HCAC baseball teams for the 2024 season.
Max Fries was named to the second team all-conference after leading the Quakers at the plate during his final season. Fries had a .388/.482/.712 slash line with 10 doubles, four triples, nine homers and a team-high 51 RBI. He also recorded seven steals, and scored a team-high 49 runs.
Dillon Fischer was also on the second team for his efforts on the mound. Fischer posted a 3-4 record with a 1.89 WHIP across over 57 innings of work. He went the distance twice with a team-high 60 strikeouts. In his final five starts of the season, Fischer threw 32.2 innings with a 3.58 ERA and a 2-1 record.
Mitchell Roether earned honorable mention recognition as a first baseman in his sophomore year. Roether had a .351/.449/.581 mark with eight doubles and three home runs. Roether scored 14 runs and drove in 15 RBI in 21 starts.
The Quakers finished the season with a 15-22 record and a 7-15 HCAC mark, Earlham entered the final day of competition with a chance to make the postseason tournament with help from other matchups.
