Jason Davis takes over EC cross country program

RICHMOND, Ind. – On Monday, the Earlham College athletic department announced Jason Davis as the new Head Cross Country coach for the Quakers.

Davis will also serve as assistant track and field coach, with the distance program.

Davis comes to Earlham from Marietta College, where he served as head cross country and track and field coach for seven seasons. During his time with the Pioneers, Davis coached nine All-Americans, including the 2019 NCAA runner-up in the women's high jump for both indoor and outdoor track, and the 2021 runner-up in the men's 110 meter high hurdles.

Prior to Marietta, Davis was the head cross country and track and field coach at Lake Superior State University from 2013-2017. During that time, Davis led nine All-Americans, which included the 2015 NCAA DII champion in men's shot put, the 2015 NCAA DII runner-up in the men's high jump, and the 2016 NCAA DII runner-up in the men's indoor shot put.

Davis spent 12 seasons as an assistant coach in the track and cross country field at four programs from 2000-2013. In 2009, he was named SouthEast Region Coach of the Year.

A 2001 graduate of Wilmington College, Davis competed as a distance runner on the track and field and cross country teams. Davis earned All-HCAC honors in the 1500 meter run, and the 10,000 meter run for the Quakers.
