CARMEL, Ind. – On Tuesday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the weekly Athletes of the Week for the opening week of the spring season. Earlham College junior Mitchell Roether was selected as Hitter of the Week.

Roether went 5-8 on Opening Day with five RBI and two runs scored, including a three-run walk-off homer in the eighth inning of game one. 

On the weekend, Roether recorded nine hits on 13 at-bats with one double, two homers, seven runs and 13 RBI. The junior leads the Quaker offense with a 2.020 OPS through four games. 

The Quakers swept Olivet in a four-game series over the weekend, Earlham is slated to host Kalamazoo for a three-game set next weekend starting at noon on Saturday.
