CARMEL, Ind. – On Tuesday, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the weekly Athlete of the Week awards for baseball and softball. This week, Earlham College pitcher Hayden Scalf was named Pitcher of the Week after a sweep of Berea. 

Scalf pitched a shutout into the ninth inning in an 11-2 win over the Mountaineers to begin the series. The junior righty struck out two batters, allowing just three hits through eight innings. Scalf ended with 8.1 innings pitched, and two earned runs.

The Quakers swept Berea with a 54-15 combined score. Earlham continues HCAC action this weekend with a three-game series against Bluffton University in Sadler Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 12 pm on Saturday.
