Men's lacrosse season preview

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham College men's lacrosse team returns to action this week, beginning play against William Peace University in Darrell Beane Stadium. 

THE SCHEDULE

Earlham opens play on Friday, hosting William Peace University in Darrell Beane Stadium at 4 pm. The Quakers host Heidelberg and Cornell over Spring Break before heading to Hiram and Alma before students return to campus. Earlham hosts new HCLC member La Roche on campus on March 29th, and Wilmington College comes to town on April 3rd for the Quaker Bowl at 7 pm. Conference play begins on April 8th with Hanover College in Darrell Beane at 6 pm. The Quakers then travel to Spalding University, and host Transylvania for the season finale on April 15th. 

THE PLAYERS

Earlham returns six all-conference players from last season. Liam McGlynn earned a spot on the first team All-HCLC as a freshman LSM. McGlynn led the Quaker defense with 40 caused turnovers and 78 ground balls. Liam also has nine goals on the season, and three assists. In addition to his midfield duties, McGlynn also had 31 faceoff wins. Ethan Upton also got a first-team nod from the Quaker defense. The junior caused 34 turnovers and picked up 52 ground balls this year. He also contributed four goals and two assists offensively. Combined, McGlynn and Upton accounted for 40% of Earlham's caused turnovers. Elijah Adamson earned second team recognition as a defender with 31 caused turnovers and 49 ground balls. Adamson added one assist offensively. Ryan Dolafi had a 3-4 record in goal as a freshman, and placed on the second team All-HCLC. Dolafi posted a .524 save percentage and 10.98 goals against average for the season in nine starts, with 110 saves. Robbie Gift scored a spot on the second team after leading the Quaker offense with 32 goals and 19 assists. Gift took a team-high 129 shots with a .597 shots on goal percentage, and scored one game-winner. Ryan Polack rounded out the Quaker selections on the second team. Polack scored 11 goals, and dished out 12 assists in the midfield this season. He also caused 13 turnovers and picked up 32 ground balls.

THE COACHES

Taylor Lanzillo returns for his fourth season at the helm of the Quakers. Last year, Lanzillo was named HCLC Coach of the Year, along with seven Quakers earning All-HCLC honors. The Quakers also made their second consecutive HCLC Tournament in 2025. 

HCLC OUTLOOK

The Quakers went 2-2 in conference play last season, resulting in a fourth-place finish in the conference standings. The HCLC has added three new member schools this year. Alfred State College, Hilbert College and LaRoche University will also be competing in the HCLC and vying for a spot in the conference tournament.
