HANOVER, Ind. – The Earlham College track and field team continued competition at the Hanover Invitational on Saturday.
The men's team finished in sixth place with 15 points while the women finished in fifth place with 72 points.
Cleo Saltz won the women's 5,000 meter run, clocking in at 18:40.66 in the win. Saltz also finished in second in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:01.07.
Competing in just her second collegiate outdoor meet,
Berkley Shelton won the women's javelin throw with a heave of 28.65 meters. Ava Walters also scored her first podium with a third-place finish.
Madison Short also scored with a sixth-place finish.
Isa Slone and
Alex Ball went 1-2 in the women's long jump. Slone recorded a leap of 4.99 meters while Ball followed at 4.51 meters.
Prynces Robinson won the triple jump with a leap of 10.32 meters.
Tommy Reddick scored a second-place finish in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.36 meters.
Sofie Kurrasch scored a third-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a finishing time of 1:20.3. Ball then scored a fifth place in the open 400 meter dash with a time of 1:09.72.
Sammy West scored a point with a sixth-place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:43.53.
Earlham will continue its outdoor season next week at Wilmington College.
