CARMEL, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has named Earlham College sophomore Vanessa Akuaku as this week's HCAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week. 

Akuaku went 2-0 as the Quakers defeated Anderson University 4-3 to begin conference play. Akuaku won at No. 1 singles with a 7-6, 7-5 score and also earned a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

Earlham is set to continue play with four matches next week over Spring Break.
