Women's tennis ends regular season with dominant win over Franklin

RICHMOND, Ind. — Earlham women's tennis earned a strong 6-1 win over Franklin College on Saturday, fueled by dominant singles play.

After dropping a tightly contested No. 1 doubles match, the Quakers responded by taking the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. With the pair of Vanessa Akuaku and Lawrencia Manu and the pair of Ava Marroni and Mackenzie Davis both winning their matches 6-3.

Earlham's singles lineup took full control from there, highlighted by a pair of emphatic performances. Lawrencia Manu at No. 2 and Mackenzie Davis at No. 3 each delivered 6-0, 6-0 victories, showcasing complete dominance from start to finish.
Vanessa Akuaku added another at No. 1 with a 6-0, 6-4 win. With the Win Akuaku finishes the regular season unbeaten in conference play and unbeaten since February.

Sophomore Paige Hobbs handled business with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 4. At No. 5, senior Natalee McCann battled through a competitive three-set match, earning a 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 win in a match tiebreak to secure another point for the Quakers.
Franklin's lone point came at No. 6 in a tightly contested three-set match.

With the victory Earlham clinched the right to host the quarter final of the conference tournament.
