TIFFIN, Ohio – The Earlham College women's soccer team was defeated on the road at Heidelberg University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 4-2.
The Quakers fell to 2-2-2 on the 2022 season.
Eva Lyon got the day started for the Quakers with a goal in the eighth minute of play.
Tess Cunningham was credited with the assist on the goal just after a corner kick for the Quakers.
The Student Princes leveled the score in the 32nd minute, and the teams went into halftime tied.
Heidelberg came out of the break swinging and scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. The Berg added its final goal from a corner kick in the 75th minute to lead 4-1.
After a foul by the hosts, Cunningham scored an unassisted goal in the 84th minute.
Earlham was outshot 28-11 on the afternoon and trailed in corner kicks 7-4.
Cunningham led the Quakers on offense with four total shots.
Makayla Hurey collected 11 saves in goal.
EC will begin its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference slate on Wednesday at Hanover College. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
