RICHMOND, Ind. – In two consecutive games, the Earlham College women's soccer team shut out two of the top teams in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. On Wednesday, the Quakers tied Transylvania University 0-0 in Matlack-Messer Stadium.
Makayla Hurey collected seven saves in the shutout, and has not allowed a goal in 221 minutes of game time.
Isabel Slone led the offense with four shots and one on frame.
Mallory Smith took three shots, two on goal.
On the day, Earlham was outshot 20-12, and trailed 12-1 in corner kicks.
Earlham takes on the final undefeated team in HCAC play on Saturday at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The Quakers currently sit in seventh place in the HCAC standings, with four games remaining in the season.
