NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Earlham College women's soccer team continued its HCAC slate with a 3-0 win at Manchester University on Saturday afternoon.
Mallory Rich delivered the first goal of the game in the 26th minute with help from an assist by
Isabel Slone. After leading 1-0 at halftime,
Mallory Smith added to the lead with an unassisted goal in the 70th minute. Smith then scored the final goal of the match in the 77th minute, this time with an assist from
Quinn Doden.
The Quakers outshot the Spartans 21-9, and matched Manchester's shot total in just the first half. Earlham also took 11 corner kicks, to zero from the hosts.
Smith was the most active Quaker on the day, taking six shots, and placing three on goal.
In between the pipes,
Makayla Hurey collected two saves in her 13th career shutout.
Earlham continues conference play on Wednesday against Anderson University in Matlack-Messer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
