Earlham College

Coached by Jerry Huntsman, these young men posted the first undefeated, untied gridiron squad in Earlham history at 8-0. Defense was the hallmark of the Quakers as they recorded five shutouts. In the season-ending NAIA rankings, Earlham was first in points allowed, fifth in passing yards allowed, and twelfth in total yards allowed. The Quakers ranked twentieth in the final NAIA poll, outscored their opponents by a 233-26 margin and were one of only 12 undefeated teams in the nation.
