Sharon Witonsky was a two-sport athlete at Earlham. As a four-year basketball player, Witonsky was selected as the team’s best defensive player during the 1986-87 season and was second team All-Hoosier Collegiate Conference (HCC) that same year. She was team captain as a junior and senior, and named Most Valuable Player in her final season.

Witonsky also played softball four years. She was second team All-HCC in 1986 and first team from 1987-89; she also was softball’s team captain and MVP during her senior year. In 1989, Witonsky received Earlham’s George Van Dyke Outstanding Athlete Award, the Kathryn Webber Senior Scholar-Athlete Award, the Gertrude Pardieck Hubbard Distinguished Student Award and the Charles Frueauff Foundation Award.
