Malcolm Y. Hall earned 11 varsity letters as a member of the football, basketball and track teams at Earlham College. An outstanding quarterback, he scored all but two of the points tallied by the 1934 football squad. Hall was a member of the undefeated 1932-33 Earlham basketball team and was noted for his aggressive play on defense. In track, he captured the 1933 Little State high jump championship with a leap of 6'1", and he also competed in the hurdles and pole vault. Hall received a bachelor’s degree in economics and physical education from Earlham. Stationed in Alaska and Seattle, he served as a member of the United States Army during World War II and reached the rank of captain. Following the war, Hall returned to Greyhound Bus Lines where he worked until retirement.
