An outstanding basketball player, Ken Stewart assisted the 1967-70 Earlham basketball teams to a NAIA top 20 ranking. The owner of two all-time Earlham basketball records, he holds the marks for the most rebounds in a game (25 against Anderson on February 7, 1969) and most consecutive games started (104 from 1966-70). The four-year letterman ranks eleventh in Earlham career scoring with 1,273 points. Stewart was selected to the All-Hoosier Conference team in 1968-69, while receiving honorable mention in 1970. As a senior, he was the team’s co-captain and most valuable player, and he earned NAIA All-District 21 honors. Stewart was named most valuable player of the 1968 City Tournament and the team’s best defensive player in 1969-70. Also a two-year letterman in track, Ken received the 1970 George Van Dyke Award for outstanding contributions to Earlham athletics.
