Douglas J. Seibert was a four-year letterman in football and baseball at Earlham College. An outstanding running back, defensive safety and punter during the most successful era of Quaker football, he played a key role in Earlham going undefeated in 1962 and amassing a 28-4 record through 1965. Seibert led Indiana collegians in 1964 scoring an Earlham record total of 90 points. He was selected to the All-National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and All-Hoosier Buckeye Collegiate Conference teams in 1964 and 1965. Seibert was named Most Valuable Player of the 1964 Honaker Bowl in Marysville, Tenn. In baseball, he started four years as the Quaker catcher. A life-long educator, Seibert taught biology at Gladwin (MI) High School for 31 years before retiring in 1999.
