Lavona Reece (Godsey) Bane, who has earned special recognition into the Earlham College Athletics Hall of Fame, joined the Earlham College faculty in 1967 and served as Registrar from 1968-95. She also was Associate Dean of Student Development for five years and a Wilderness Program leader.

Earlham’s first woman faculty representative for the North Coast Athletic Conference and a sports enthusiast, Bane often provided meals during school breaks for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams and was an academic adviser to many athletes during her Earlham career.
