Earlham College

Porter Miller served as Earlham’s Director of Athletics from 1985-2002 as part of a 31-year distinguished career in college athletics as a coach, teacher and administrator.

While at Earlham, Miller served on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Div. III Nominating Committee, Football Championship Committee and was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Track Coaches Association. He also orchestrated Earlham’s transition to the North Coast Athletic Conference in 1989 and was instrumental in the construction of Earlham’s Athletics and Wellness Center, which opened in 1999.

During his tenure at Earlham, he was the chair of the Athletic Directors Committee, Conduct Review Committee, Football Committee, Track Committee, Expansions Committee and was a member of the Long-range Planning Committee. He served as the president of the Intercollegiate Officiating Association.
