As Earlham’s first basketball player to score 1,000 career points, Dudley Moore averaged 17.8 points per game getting him 1,122 points in 63 games. Moore’s 435 points in 1952-53 and 36 points against Huntington in 1953 set the single-season and single-game scoring records at the time. Moore was a three-time All Hoosier Conference forward and most valuable player of Earlham’s 1952-53 team. He also played three years of football and volleyball. An excellent pass receiver and defensive back, he shared the football team’s scoring honors with 30 points in 1952. Considered to be Earlham’s best defensive volleyball player of his era, Moore was named to the All-America Collegiate second team in 1953. He was the co-recipient of the “E” blanket award in 1953. Moore, at the time of induction, was a consultant for human resources and lived with his wife Marie in Columbus, Ind.
